Smoked Cheez-Its!


Pregame Plan: This is a short and simple snack recipe for smoked Cheez-its. Here’s what you’ll need: 1 8oz box of regular cheddar Cheez-Its (or one half of a family size box), Ranch seasoning or a Hidden Valley Ranch Packet, spray olive oil, dill (optional) and garlic powder.

Step 1: Preheat your smoker to 165 degrees F. I’m smoking these with Jack Daniels Whiskey Barrel wood chips. You can use any wood you would like. Here are some other options.

Step 2: Put the Cheez-its in a mixing bowl and spray lightly with olive oil. You want just enough to give the seasoning something to stick to – you don’t want too much or the Cheez-its will get soggy. Mix the olive oil in so it is evenly distributed.

Step 2: Add in 1 teaspoon or ranch seasoning, 1 teaspoon of garlic powder, and ½ teaspoon of dill. Mix the seasonings in so they’re evenly distributed. Then spread them out on a baking sheet or a baking rack. Spread them out as much as possible so the smoke can marry into the crackers.

Step 3: Smoke at 165 degrees for about 20-25 minutes

Step 4: Let cool for a couple minutes and enjoy!

Note: If you want to make spicy Cheez-its, substitute the dill for Franks Red Hot Buffalo Ranch seasoning
